The Tennessee Titans hosted the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, looking to maintain an undefeated record in Nissan Stadium.
Instead, they fell 19-17 in the home opener.
This game started off extremely shaky, but it was very much a winnable contest. While execution was poor, the Titans still appeared to be the better team overall.
If it were not for some missed opportunities at several points, Tennessee could have taken and held the lead to the end.
Here’s a look at what went well, what went wrong and what was just plain bad on Sunday.
The Good.

• The Titans opened the game in a 12-man package, and A.J. Brown was the lone Titans wide receiver on the field. Expect Brown’s role to only continue growing as he progresses through his rookie season.
• Logan Ryan had one of his best performances as a Titan. He recorded his second interception of the season, and gave the Tennessee a serious break as Indianapolis was driving down the field.
The Bad.

• Adoree’ Jackson struggled early in this one on defense and on special teams.
• Marcus Mariota had several off-target throws.
• Tackling was bad for the Titans. Jacoby Brissett constantly escaped from being sacked on plays in which he should have gone down.
• The defense looked sluggish and tired at some moments.
• The Titans abandoned the run game with Derrick Henry too often.
• Mariota double-clutched or held onto the football for to long on several plays.
The Ugly.

• Special teams was bad on both teams. Adam Vinatieri missed two point after attempts and Cairo Santos missed a 45-yard field for the Titans.
• The officials made some highly questionable calls, more so in favor of the Colts. Some include of these included pass interference, ball placement and holding calls. This directly lead to the Colts second touchdown.
• Mariota took too many unnecessary hits.
• The Titans seemed reluctant to throw the ball down the field, and played too conservatively.
