Colts take WR Rondale Moore in latest PFF mock draft

The Indianapolis Colts have several needs to address this offseason and some of that could come through the 2021 NFL draft as they hold the No. 21 pick in the first round.

In the latest mock draft from Pro Football Focus, the Colts went with a local name in wide receiver Rondale Moore out of Purdue. Here’s what they had to say about the pick:

21. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS: WR RONDALE MOORE, PURDUE

Moore is largely a projection at the next level considering how few snaps we saw him fully healthy at Purdue, but his record-breaking 2018 season and jaw-dropping speed, strength and athleticism combination is enough to feel confident in him as a first-round pick.

Moore may be a bit undersized entering the draft but his skill set is worthy of a first-round pick. He’s electric with the ball in his hands and his change of direction skills are off the charts. Moore is likely limited to the slot given his size and lack of experience against press coverage.

That said, he’s a wonderful fit for the West Coast offense Frank Reich has installed in Indy. The biggest question is less about Moore and more about whether the Colts want to use the No. 21 pick on a wideout if they don’t trade up for a quarterback.

In this mock, four quarterbacks went in the first four picks while Mac Jones went to the Saints at No. 28.

It will be interesting to see how free agency shapes the Colts’ path in the draft, but Moore would give them another explosive option in the passing game.
