Colts’ T.Y. Hilton: Most talented team I’ve been around

Indianapolis Colts veteran players made their way back to the facility Wednesday as the team prepares for the official start of training camp, and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton couldn’t hide his praise.

The Colts, who have had an offseason of high expectations, will see the return of an extremely efficient offense to go along with a  defense that is—on paper—the deepest it’s been this decade.

Hilton echoed those thoughts, telling reporters Wednesday that this is the most talent team he has been around since entering the league in 2012.

The former third-round pick has been a constant fixture in the Colts offense, providing quarterback Andrew Luck with one of the best deep threats in the league. He will be leading a receiving corps that is littered with tight end talent and some new faces in the form of wide receivers Parris Campbell and Devin Funchess.

The Colts offense found immense success in its first season under head coach Frank Reich. His quick-hitting scheme focused on getting the ball out of Luck’s hands quickly, but it didn’t take the deep ball away from Ghost.

He’s coming off of one of his best seasons in 2018 having recorded 76 receptions for 1,270 yards and six touchdowns. That’s largely in part thanks to leading the league in receiving yards over the final seven weeks of the season.

The Colts have some high expectations to meet in 2019, but Hilton is confident the group can continue their ascension in the AFC.
