Colts’ T.Y. Hilton likely out 3-4 weeks with calf injury

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver T.Y. Hilton suffered a calf injury this week, and it seems the offense will be without its most explosive weapon for a few weeks.

Having already been ruled out for the Week 9 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Hilton’s injury could see a timeline close to 3-4 weeks, per head coach Frank Reich. Hilton suffered the non-contact injury on Wednesday during practice.

This is a big blow to a Colts offense that hasn’t seen much consistency with its passing attack. Hilton wasn’t enjoying a typical season, but he is still the biggest weapon the Colts have.

Now, the Colts will have to lean on a thin wide receiver corps. Those likely to get a bump in playing time will be Zach Pascal, Chester Rogers, Parris Campbell and potentially Deon Cain.

The Colts have a chance to get some separation in the second half, but it just became incredibly more difficult with Hilton missing significant time.
