Colts stay silent at trade deadline

As expected, the Indianapolis Colts didn’t make any moves as the NFL trade deadline came and went on Tuesday.

Given how much general manager Chris Ballard loves his draft picks, the only realistic scenario was if the Colts received an offer for one of their own players in exchange for a selection. Even then, it was highly unlikely the Colts were going to make a move.

In fact, the Colts have only made one trade mid-season this decade. But we won’t go into the whole Trent Richardson ordeal.

The Colts have proven to have solid depth throughout the roster—a testament to the work done over the past three offseasons, and they have a strong chance to make a run for a strong playoff spot in the AFC if all goes according to plan during the second half of the season.

With the trade deadline now in the past, the Colts will focus on staying atop the AFC South where they currently hold a half-game lead over the Houston Texans.
