Colts’ snap counts from Week 5 win over Chiefs

The Indianapolis Colts (3-2) will be entering their bye week following the upset victory over the Kansas City Chiefs (4-1) in Week 5 at Arrowhead Stadium.

Pulling off this kind of upset takes a group effort, especially on the defensive side of the ball. The Colts proved they can hang with the best of the AFC teams with this win, and it should provide plenty of confidence going into the bye week.

Here’s a look at the offensive snap counts from the win:

There isn’t much to take away here that isn’t standard. Running back Marlon Mack continues to be the workhorse in the backfield while wide receiver Zach Pascal has clearly emerged as the WR2 opposite T.Y. Hilton.

What is interesting is that Mo Alie-Cox saw 10 more snaps than Eric Ebron. Though with how much the Colts were running the ball, it does make sense for Alie-Cox to be on the field more.

Here’s a look at the defensive and special teams snap counts:

Safeties George Odum and Khari Willis and linebacker Anthony Walker saw 100% of the snaps. Defensive end Kemoko Turay saw a nice uptick thanks to a strong performance, but his ankle injury in the fourth quarter could be something serious.

Rookie cornerback Marvell Tell saw the first snaps of his career while defensive tackle Margus Hunt is being phased out of the interior. Rookie defensive end Ben Banogu didn’t see any snaps on defense.
