Colts’ snap counts from preseason loss to Browns

The Indianapolis Colts are officially halfway through the preseason following the 21-18 loss at the hands of the Cleveland Browns at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday.

As the second preseason game tends to allow, the starting units for the Colts were on the field longer than the opener. They played into the second quarter as head coach Frank Reich allowed the first team to finish off their drive, which resulted in a touchdown.

Here’s a look at the offensive snap counts from the Saturday preseason matchup:

A few notes to take away here: we got a solid look at wide receiver Deon Cain, who played the most he has since tearing his ACL. He wound up leading the team in targets (nine), receptions (seven) and receiving yards (80). Undrafted rookie Hale Hentges played a strong amount of snaps and showed off his ability both as a receiver and a run blocker.

Here’s a look at the defensive and special teams snap counts from Saturday:

Some notes from the starting defensive unit: Rock Ya-Sin got the start in nickel over Quincy Wilson. Al-Quadin Muhammad started in place of Jabaal Sheard at defensive end, but Kemoko Turay quickly worked in following the first drive. Zaire Franklin was the first-team SAM linebacker in the base defense.
