Colts signing LT Eric Fisher to 1-year deal

The Indianapolis Colts are signing one of the top remaining free agents in the NFL. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, former No. 1 overall pick Eric Fisher is signing a one-year deal with the Colts.

Fisher signing with the Colts comes three days after he took a free-agent visit with the team on Thursday. The Colts wanted to check in on his rehab following a torn Achilles in January, among other things, before agreeing to a deal.

Now, it seems, the Colts have their replacement for longtime left tackle Anthony Castonzo, who retired this offseason after 10 seasons.

Fisher was the No. 1 overall pick in 2013 when current Colts general manager Chris Ballard was helping run the front office in Kansas City under then-general manager John Dorsey.

Fisher has been to two Pro Bowls (2018, 2020) in his career but was released this offseason.

After trading for Carson Wentz in February, the Colts now have a left tackle to protect his blindside to go along with a starting offensive line that includes All-Pro left guard Quenton Nelson.
