The Indianapolis Colts signed linebacker Jonas Griffith to the practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.
Griffith visited the Colts this week after we learned about some injuries hitting the linebacker position. With Darius Leonard (groin), E.J. Speed (elbow) and Bobby Okereke (thumb) all under question for the Week 5 game against the Browns, it isn’t a surprise to see the Colts add some depth.
Griffith is intriguing from an athletic standpoint. He ran a 4.62 in the 40-yard dash at his pro day while measuring in at 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds.
With a tough matchup ahead in the Browns, the Colts will hopefully have some of their linebackers ready to go, and it will be a situation to monitor starting with the injury report on Wednesday.
