Colts sign LB Drew Lewis, waive LB Tre Thomas

The Indianapolis Colts signed linebacker Drew Lewis and waived linebacker Tre Thomas, the team announced Friday.

From the release given by the team:

Lewis, 6-2, 225 pounds, participated in the Houston Texans’ 2019 offseason program before being waived on July 23. He was originally signed by the Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2019.

Collegiately, Lewis played in 36 games (18 starts) in three seasons (2016-18) at Colorado and totaled 198 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 5.0 sacks, one interception and seven passes defensed. He spent one season (2015) at Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College and compiled 63 tackles (25 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. As a true freshman in 2014, Lewis redshirted at Washington before transferring.

Thomas signed with the Colts on May 5 as an undrafted free agent. If he clears waivers, he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
