The Indianapolis Colts have signed five of their 10 selections from the 2019 NFL Draft, including second-round pick Ben Banogu.
The Colts got a big chunk of their picks signed early with the rookie minicamp beginning on Friday. Banogu and four others got their rookie contracts signed and dealt with.
Here’s a look at the initial wave of rookies that have signed their deals:
- LB Ben Banogu
- OT Jackson Barton
- C Javon Patterson
- LB E.J. Speed
- DE Gerri Green
Banogu is expected to be one of the better picks from the Colts’ draft crop in 2019. They like his versatility to work as a SAM backer on early downs while kicking down to rush from the edge on third downs.
Barton and Patterson rounded out the draft as the Colts’ seventh-round picks and will both be competing at their respective spots on the offensive line.
Speed has a lot of upside and will likely be working behind Darius Leonard at WILL backer while Green will be working mostly as a defensive end.
The Colts still have five more draft picks that need to be signed, which includes three of their selections from Day 2 of the draft.
