Colts sign DT Trevon Coley

The Indianapolis Colts signed defensive tackle Trevon Coley to the active roster from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad and released defensive tackle Jihad Ward, the team announced Tuesday.

Needing some size on the interior, the Colts bring Coley to the active roster from the Ravens practice squad. They’ve been struggling against the run, allowing 5.5 yards per carry to opposing offenses—the second-highest rate in the NFL.

In 31 career games, Coley has 11.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks. He was originally an undrafted free agent with the Ravens following the 2016 NFL Draft.

Ward has been with the Colts since signing before the 2018 season and while his ability as a pass rusher is intriguing, the Colts needed more bulk on the interior.
