The Indianapolis Colts signed cornerback Shakial Taylor to the practice squad and released cornerback Jalen Collins from the practice squad, the team announced Monday.
Taylor was an undrafted free agent that signed with the Colts following the 2019 NFL Draft, and spent the offseason and preseason with the Colts. He’s a physical cornerback and showed promise during his short time with the team.
The release of Collins is interesting seeing as the Colts seemed to like him a lot for his potential. However, he’s yet to play in a regular-season game with the Colts since signing on with them during the 2018 season.
Given the injuries to the secondary, it remains to be seen if Taylor has a chance to make it up to the roster at some point this season.
