Colts sign CB Rock Ya-Sin, WR Parris Campbell

The Indianapolis Colts signed two draft picks including cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and wide receiver Parris Campbell, the team announced Monday.

Two of the biggest prospects in the Colts’ 2019 draft class are now under contract. Ya-Sin was selected as the Colts’ first pick in the draft at No. 34 overall while Campbell was selected with the No. 59 pick.

There is a lot of upside with both rookies at their respective positions. Ya-Sin is likely to compete with Pierre Desir and Quincy Wilson for a spot on the boundary. His length and athleticism should allow him to make a smooth transition regardless of whether they run zone coverage or man-to-man.

Campbell is a perfect fit for the Colts offense given his speed and reliable hands. He’s expected to work mostly from the slot, but the Colts have ideas to also take snaps on the outside. How quickly he can carve out a role in the offense remains to be seen, but he’s likely to have an impact.

The Colts have now signed nine of their 10 selections from the draft. The only draft pick yet to sign is third-round linebacker Bobby Okereke out of Stanford.
