Colts sign CB Chris Lammons to practice squad after suspension

The Indianapolis Colts signed cornerback Chris Lammons to the practice squad following his three-game suspension, the team announced Monday.

Technically, the Colts had to release Lammons after he was reinstated from the suspended list. They did so and immediately re-signed him to the practice squad, taking the spot of running back Trey Sermon, who was signed to the active roster in Week 3.

Lammons was suspended for his involvement in the beating of a man in Las Vegas in 2022—the same incident Alvin Kamara was suspended for.

Lammons provided depth in the slot cornerback role and on special teams during his month with the team throughout training camp and the preseason. It isn’t clear yet if the Colts have any plans to promote him to the active roster.
