Colts set date for Dwight Freeney’s Ring of Honor induction

The Indianapolis Colts announced last week that former defensive end Dwight Freeney will be inducted into the organization’s Ring of Honor at some point during the 2019 regular season.

The team announced Tuesday that the induction ceremony will take place Sunday, Nov. 10, when the Colts host the Miami Dolphins for a Week 10 matchup at Lucas Oil Stadium.

During his 11-year span with the Colts, Freeney earned AP First-Team All-Pro nods three times while also earning seven Pro Bowl selections. The former first-round pick will be the 16th member of the Colts’ Ring of Honor and the first defensive end to be inducted.

Freeney retired from the league as a member of the Colts during the 2018 offseason.

The Colts are hoping to be steamrolling at this point in the season, and a home matchup with the Dolphins should make for a nice induction ceremony for Freeney.
