Colts sent game balls to schools of 2019 draft picks

Finding which players a team wants to select in the NFL draft takes a group effort—not just with the Indianapolis Colts, but also with the school of the player being taken.

Getting help from the school in terms of tape or personal interviews about the player goes a long way with the Colts. When a player is selected from a particular school, it doesn’t go unnoticed by general manager Chris Ballard that the school had a part to play as well.

That’s why he and Colts organization give a little thanks in the form of a commemorative game ball of the player selected. For example, here’s the one sent to Temple after cornerback Rock Ya-Sin was selected No. 34 overall in the 2019 draft.

The Colts made 10 picks in April’s draft, which is a lot of game balls to send out. But it makes the process worth it while also making schools more cooperative in the future knowing the Colts will be appreciative of any help they get with a draft pick.
