Colts select WR Parris Campbell with No. 59 pick in 2019 NFL Draft

The Indianapolis Colts selected former Ohio State wide receiver Parris Campbell with the No. 59 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

In addition to the selections of cornerback Rock Ya-Sin and linebacker Ben Banogu earlier in the second round on Day 2, the Colts add Campbell to the mix as the first offensive player of the draft.

One of the biggest needs for the Colts entering the draft, Campbell perfectly fills what Indy wants to do offensively. He’s electric after the catch with the ability to work horizontally from the slot.

Campbell (6’0, 205) ran a 4.31 in the 40 yard dash at the NFL combine. He caught 90 passes for 1,063 yards and 12 touchdowns for the Buckeyes during the 2018 season. He was Draft Wire’s 10th-ranked wide receiver and 58th-ranked overall prospect.

Campbell will be joining a wide receiver room that currently is led by T.Y. Hilton, Devin Funchess, Chester Rogers, Deon Cain and Daurice Fountain.

The Colts are scheduled to have one more pick on Friday coming at No. 89 overall in the third round to wrap up their Day 2 selections.
