Colts select LB Bobby Okereke with No. 89 pick in 2019 NFL Draft

The Indianapolis Colts selected former Stanford linebacker Bobby Okereke with the No. 89 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Colts spent Day 2 of the draft wheeling and dealing but still making four selections. That included cornerback Rock Ya-Sin, linebacker Ben Banogu and wide receiver Parris Campbell in the second round.

Though it wasn’t a need, the Colts continue to emphasize the front seven. Okereke is a rangy linebacker that offers solid play recognition. He ran a 4.58 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL combine and has 34-inch arms, which should help him with his tackling.

Okereke was Draft Wire’s 13th ranked linebacker and the 145th-ranked overall prospect in this year’s class.

In 2018, he recorded 94 tackles (52 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, five passes defended and 3.5 sacks.

Should they not trade up into the back end of the third round, the Colts conclude their Day 2 picks with Okereke.
