Colts’ Ryan Kelly (elbow) likely out a few weeks

Indianapolis Colts center Ryan Kelly is expected to miss the next few weeks due to the elbow injury he suffered during Thursday’s training camp practice.

Offensive coordinator Marcus Brady, who is filling in for head coach Frank Reich as he awaits clearance from the COVID-19 protocols, told the media that Kelly should be fine in the long run but is likely to miss the next few weeks.

“Ryan (Kelly), I know he had something with his elbow, a little hyperextension to his elbow. I believe Marlon (Mack) ran into him at practice yesterday – just accidental. I think he’ll be out for probably a couple of weeks but he’ll be OK,” said Brady on Friday.

Kelly is a key part of the offensive line so the hope is that he won’t be missing from the field too long. The Colts are already down their quarterback indefinitely after Wentz suffered a twinge in his foot.

As long as Kelly is out, the Colts are likely to turn to second-year offensive lineman Danny Pinter, who was a fifth-round pick in the 2020 draft.
