Colts rule out LB Darius Leonard vs. Raiders

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Darius Leonard won’t play against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Week 4, head coach Frank Reich told reporters Friday.

The 2018 All-Pro is still in the league’s concussion protocol after showing symptoms following the Colts’ Week 2 win against the Tennessee Titans. He hasn’t logged a practice since then and was forced to miss the Week 3 matchup as well.

This is the second game in a row Leonard has missed due to the concussion.

The Colts also ruled out safety Malik Hooker (knee) and defensive tackle Tyquan Lewis (ankle).

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton didn’t log a practice all week after re-aggravating a quad injury he, too, initially suffered in Week 2. Hilton played the first half against the Falcons, recording eight catches for 65 yards and a touchdown before being ruled out in the second half.

It is still unclear if Hilton plays, but it appears there is a chance. There also is a chance defensive end Jabaal Sheard makes his debut on Sunday.

The final injury report comes out later on Friday, which will have the full list of designations entering the weekend ahead of the Sunday matchup against the Raiders.
