Colts rookie WR Dezmon Patmon working out with Philip Rivers

The new quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts in Philip Rivers has arrived into the Circle City and has been conducting players-only workouts. Among them has been sixth-round pick Dezmon Patmon.

The rookie wide receiver, who has been in San Diego during the offseason, arrived in Indy recently and made sure to get some work in with the 38-year-old veteran who will be running the offense.

Patmon was selected in the sixth-round (No. 212 overall) of the 2020 draft and will be competing for the final spot in the wide receiver room. With T.Y. Hilton, Michael Pittman Jr., Parris Campbell and Zach Pascal having the first four spots locked down, it will be up to Patmon to prove he’s deserving of that final role.

Coming to the Colts with an excellent athletic profile gives him a strong shot to make the 53-man roster, but Patmon will also have to prove himself on special teams.

Getting some work in with the new QB1 is vital for Patmon, especially with the chance of a shortened preseason to prove himself.
