Colts release unofficial depth chart for Week 2

The Indianapolis Colts released the unofficial depth chart Tuesday ahead of the Week 2 matchup against the Houston Texans.

The term “unofficial” should be taken to heart here as the pecking order could change on a whim. Still, we’re here to take a look at the depth chart going into the divisional matchup against the Texans.

Here’s a look at the unofficial Week 2 depth chart for the Colts:

Offense

Notes

  • RB Evan Hull (knee) was placed on the injured reserve list, and Jake Funk was signed from the practice squad to replace his spot.
  • RB Zack Moss (forearm) is still listed as the starter and could return for his season debut in Week 2 after being inactive for the opener.
  • Rookie TE Will Mallory was a healthy scratch in the opener but with Drew Ogletree in the concussion protocol, there’s a chance he makes his debut in Week 2.
  • WR Josh Downs saw seven targets in Week 1, the second most among skill players behind only Michael Pittman Jr. (11).

Defense

Notes

  • No changes from the previous week.
  • CBs Dallis Flowers and Kenny Moore II ran as the starting duo while Darrell Baker Jr. played 69% of the snaps in Week 1.
  • Rookie CB Julius Brents was a healthy scratch as a coach’s decision in Week 1.
  • There was heavy rotation on the defensive line with each active player seeing at least 10 snaps in the opener.

Special Teams

Notes

  • No changes from the previous week.
  • Though Dallis Flowers is listed as the starting punt returner, it was Isaiah McKenzie who took the snaps there. He fielded two punts, called two fair catches and averaged 10.0 yards per return in the opener.
  • Flowers didn’t get many chances to return kicks in the opener. He had just one return for 19 yards while the five other opportunities turned into touchbacks.
