Colts re-sign 3 players

The Indianapolis Colts have re-signed wide receivers Chester Rogers and Marcus Johnson along with safety Matthias Farley, the team announced Monday.

Earlier this offseason, the Colts extended offer sheets to all three players. Rogers and Farley were restricted free agents while Johnson was an exclusive-rights free agent. The deadline for restricted free agents to sign their tenders is Friday.

What this means is all three players return to the Colts on a one-year deal.

Rogers has been a steady piece of the offense since arriving in 2016 as an undrafted free agent. He recorded the second-most receptions among Colts wide receivers in 2018.

Farley is also a big part of the safety room despite missing the majority of the season due to injury in 2018. He is expected to work into the rotation as the No. 3 safety behind Malik Hooker and Clayton Geathers.

Johnson is a wide receiver the Colts are high on. Head coach Frank Reich seems to be impressed with his skill set, but he missed the majority of the 2018 season after suffering an injury.

The Colts begin their offseason training program Monday, and it will be interesting to see how much of an impact these players can have in 2019.
