Colts’ practice injury report: Sept. 5

The Indianapolis Colts are on the practice field preparing for the regular-season opener, which takes place on Sunday afternoon against the Los Angeles Chargers at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Before the Week 1 matchup on the West Coast, the Colts will be practicing and releasing the injury report—giving us an organized view on the injuries the team is dealing with.

Here’s a look at the injury report following Thursday’s practice:

Name Position Injury Wed. Thurs. Fri. Game
Jabaal Sheard DE Knee DNP DNP
Jonathan Williams RB Rib DNP DNP
Devin Funchess WR Back LP FULL
Kenny Moore II CB Thumb LP LP
Jordan Wilkins RB Ankle LP LP
Clayton Geathers S Non-injury DNP
Kemoko Turay DE Neck LP

Sheard and Williams fail to practice for the second consecutive day. Their outlook is likely that they won’t play unless they can log a practice in some capacity on Friday.

Funchess returned as a full participant, which means he’s likely ready for Week 1 barring a setback. Moore II and Wilkins were limited again, and it remains to be seen if they will be full go on Sunday.

Geathers was added to the injury report for a non-injury related reason while Turay gets added to the list due to a neck injury.

The Colts have one more practice on Friday until the designations for the game are released.
