Colts Player of the Game vs. Titans: DT Denico Autry

A hot and wild game in Nashville was filled with lots of fireworks, and we are talking about real fireworks, not that failed attempt that started a field fire before the game.

Last week against the Chargers, the Colts failed to get a consistent pass rush to pressure Phillip Rivers. This week, however, Indy’s pass rush looked much better and was led by Denico Autry.

With Jabaal Sheard out again against the Titans, Autry had to spearhead the Colts outside pressure and looked very impressive. On the day, he had four tackles, two sacks and two tackles for a loss.

The stat line may not seem impressive, but he was living in the backfield all day, pressuring Mariota and flushing him out of the pocket. He was a large part of the Colts’ success on defense Sunday and played very well down the stretch.

On the final drive, Autry was also a large part in the pressure that forced Mariota to throw a rushed ball to A.J. Brown that resulted in an incompletion.

Look for Autry to be a leader up front on defense as the Colts look to keep improving their pass rush.
