Colts’ player of the game vs. Broncos: LB Darius Leonard

In an ugly win at home against the Denver Broncos, not many players for the Indianapolis Colts shined and truly changed the game. This was a gritty team win that was lead by the strong defensive play in the second half, spearheaded by linebacker Darius Leonard.

The second-year linebacker finished the day with 10 total tackles, a tackle for a loss, a quarterback hit and a sack.

The sack on Joe Flacco came at the end of the first half that halted the Denver drive and eventually led to an Adam Vinatieri 55 yard field goal to make it 6-3 at halftime.

Leonard played a big part in shutting down the Broncos running game in the second half that gashed the Colts earlier in the game.

The Colts will look to fix the many mistakes they made against Denver next week when they travel to Pittsburgh for a road test against the struggling Steelers.

Leonard has bounced back well after missing three weeks with a concussion. The leader of this young defense can make a huge difference in any game and has been a gigantic part of why the Colts will stay on top of the AFC South at 5-2.
