Colts plan on Malik Hooker returning to practice this week

The Indianapolis Colts (3-2) will be on the field for practice Wednesday to prepare for the Houston Texans (4-2) and while safety Malik Hooker won’t be there to begin the week, the plan is for him to return to practice at some point before the Week 7 matchup.

Speaking to the media before Wednesday’s practice, head coach Frank Reich told reporters that they are planning for Hooker to return to practice on Thursday.

Whether this means Hooker has a chance to play Sunday against the Texans remains to be seen. Coming off of a torn meniscus he suffered in Week 3, it was expected that the third-year safety would miss about a month.

The injury reports will come out over the course of the week, which will give a better idea of how Hooker is progressing.

At the very least, it seems he’s making progress toward returning as Thursday will be a big day for the Ohio State product.
