The Indianapolis Colts placed wide receiver Daurice Fountain on the Active/NFI list and defensive end Carroll Phillips on the PUP list, the team announced Monday.
With the rookie class reporting to training camp on Sunday and the veterans set to report on Wednesday, it was expected that some news like this would be announced by the team.
Both players can be moved from the NFI or PUP list to the active roster at any point as soon as they are ready to go.
Fountain and Carroll are fighting for a roster spot once training camp and the preseason begins. Their injuries will keep them from doing so at the start of training camp.
The Colts officially begin training camp on Thursday at Grand Park in Westfield.
