Colts place OT Julién Davenport on COVID-19 list

The Indianapolis Colts placed offensive tackle Julién Davenport on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Thursday evening.

Davenport hadn’t been practicing with the team to open training camp this week, and it wasn’t clear why. Now we know that it was COVID-19 related even if it isn’t clear whether he tested positive for the virus.

With Davenport now on the reserve/COVID-19 list, he is the fourth Colts player to be added to the list. He joins defensive end Al-Quadin Muhammad along with cornerbacks Xavier Rhodes and T.J. Carrie, all three of which were placed on the list when training camp opened.

Head coach Frank Reich is also on the list after testing positive for COVID-19 despite being fully vaccinated.

Davenport will be missing crucial time in an open competition at left tackle. As the Colts look to find their replacement until Eric Fisher returns from his Achilles rehab, Will Holden and Sam Tevi will be the ones battling it out while Davenport is absent.
