Colts place LB Matthew Adams on COVID-19 list

The Indianapolis Colts placed linebacker Matthew Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Wednesday.

Adams had been absent from practice the last two days listed on the injury report as “non-injury related.” It isn’t yet clear if he tested positive for COVID-19 or if he was in close contact with someone who did.

Adams is the first player to be placed on the COVID-19 list for the Colts since the start of training camp. The team had a scare with some false positives earlier this season. The Colts also had a staff member test positive last week.

As the Colts are scheduled to play Thursday night against the Tennessee Titans in Nashville, this could present an issue given that the game is just a day away.

For now, Adams will be placed on the COVID-19 list while the league figures out the next step.
