Colts place DeForest Buckner on COVID-19 list ahead of game vs. Titans

The Indianapolis Colts placed star defensive lineman DeForest Buckner on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Wednesday, which leaves his status for the Week 12 game against the Tennessee Titans up in the air.

Buckner could have been placed on the list for one of two reasons: either he has tested positive for the virus or has come in close contact with someone who has.

If it’s the former, he’ll almost certainly be out for Sunday, but if it’s the latter reason then he still has a chance to suit up.

Not having Buckner would be a huge loss for Indianapolis with Tennessee running back Derrick Henry coming to town, as the former Pro Bowler is a force against both the pass and run. Indy’s elite run defense will surely be downgraded without him.

Henry totaled 103 yards on 19 carries in Week 10 against the Colts when Buckner was in the lineup.

Buckner, who was acquired in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers back in March, has 41 combined tackles (24 solo, one for loss) and 2.5 sacks in 10 games.

The Titans and Colts will meet at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff set for noon CT. This is the second meeting between these two teams in 2020.
