Colts optimistic S Khari Willis returns vs. Texans

It seems there is a good chance that Indianapolis Colts safety Khari Willis will be activated from the injured reserve list ahead of the Week 13 matchup against the Houston Texans.

Willis, who has been on the reserve list since Week 9, was designated to return on Wednesday and was able to log full practices throughout the week.

Head coach Frank Reich told the media Friday that there’s high optimism Willis will be able to return against the Texans.

Given that the Colts have been without both of their starting safeties for roughly a month now—Julian Blackmon is out for the year with a torn Achilles—this is big news for the Colts.

If and when Willis returns against the Texans, the Colts have a decision to make on the rotation next to him, but this is a big boost for the defense.
