Colts officially sign QB Jacoby Brissett to contract extension

The Indianapolis Colts have signed quarterback Jacoby Brissett to a contract extension, the team officially announced Tuesday morning.

Though it was reported Monday that the two sides came to an agreement on a two-year, $30 million deal with $20 million guaranteed, nothing is true until it is announced. Now, the Colts officially have control of their quarterback room for at least the next two seasons.

Brissett’s deal replaces his rookie contract, of which he was in the final year. Now, Brissett will be tied with the Colts through the 2020 season as both sides get some security for the next two campaigns.

Following Andrew Luck’s retirement, the Colts knew immediately who would step in to fill the massive void under center. The Colts’ brass has had the utmost confidence in Brissett, and it shows with the contract extension.

The Colts will enter the 2019 season with full control of their quarterback room and now with Brissett fully entrenched as the starter for two more seasons.
