Colts’ Morocco Brown won’t be hired as Falcons’ new GM

Indianapolis Colts college scouting director Morocco Brown completed his interview with the Atlanta Falcons last week for their vacant general manager role, but he was informed Wednesday that he is not a finalist for the job.

Brown, who has been an integral part of the scouting department for the Colts, was one of many candidates to interview for the Falcons general manager role. Though he didn’t get it this time around, he is likely to get more opportunities in the future.

Brown has been a big factor in helping the Colts put together such strong draft classes over the years. He has been a major asset in bringing in players like Quenton Nelson, Darius Leonard, Braden Smith, Jonathan Taylor and Grover Stewart, to name a few.

While Brown will be returning to the Colts, assistant general manager Ed Dodds completed his interview with the Detroit Lions on Tuesday. He withdrew from the candidacy for the Carolina Panthers job but is still available for the Lions.

Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus has completed his interviews with the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers for their vacant head coaching roles.
