Colts’ Marlon Mack tweaked ankle vs. Raiders

The Indianapolis Colts (2-2) suffered a big loss at the hands of the Oakland Raiders (2-2) on Sunday, and running back Marlon Mack suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter.

The third-year running back wasn’t getting much going on the ground in the 31-24 loss. He finished with 11 carries for 39 yards while only seeing two touches in the second half of the game.

During the fourth quarter, it was announced that Mack was questionable to return due to an ankle injury. He told reporters after the game that he tweaked his ankle, and the training staff didn’t feel he would be himself if he went back out there.

It isn’t clear how severe the ankle injury is or how long he might be impacted by it. If the training staff felt it was severe enough to not come back into a close game, then it remains to be seen what the week holds.

The Colts will be on the road in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs and should Mack still be hampered by the ankle, the backfield is likely made up of Nyheim Hines, Jordan Wilkins and Jonathan Williams.
