Colts make no selections in 2019 Supplemental Draft

As expected, the Indianapolis Colts didn’t make any selections in the 2019 Supplemental Draft, which took place Wednesday afternoon.

Seeing as the process of acquiring players in the supplemental draft means having to part ways with a 2020 pick, it was highly unlikely general manager Chris Ballard was going to spend any future draft capital.

There was a selection made, however, in the draft on Wednesday. The Arizona Cardinals used a fifth-round selection on Washington State safety Jalen Thompson. This means when the Cardinals are on the clock in the fifth round next April, the selection will have already been made.

Even though there have been three players selected in the last two years of the supplemental draft, it hasn’t occurred all that often in its history.

With the supplemental draft now over, the Colts will head into training camp in two weeks with their current eight selections in the 2020 draft.
