Colts’ Luke Rhodes becomes NFL’s highest-paid long snapper

The Indianapolis Colts gave long snapper Luke Rhodes a four-year extension on Tuesday, locking him up through the 2023 season. It also made him the highest-paid long snapper in the NFL.

The four-year extension will reportedly be worth $4.85 million with $1.25 guaranteed, which makes him the highest-paid at the position. The contract details were first reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

Rhodes, 26, converted from the linebacker position during the 2017 offseason. He’s been working with punter Rigoberto Sanchez since the latter entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2017. Both players signed four-year extensions this offseason so they will be together through the 2023 season.

The Colts aren’t shy about rewarding those they feel worthy even if it means making them the highest-paid player at their respective position.
