Colts’ Kenny Moore earns performance-based pay bonus

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore turned in an extremely strong 2018 season emerging as the team’s best cornerback, and he’s earned a nice bonus because of it.

Moore, who paced the cornerback room in snaps played for the regular season, earned a $424,055 bonus under the performance-based pay program.

A bonus that is based on playing time relative to a player’s salary, Moore’s performance for the Colts in 2018 earned him a nice bonus in a year that he was paid $550,000 in base salary.

Working mostly from the slot, Moore was a swiss-army knife for the Colts. He excelled in the zone-heavy scheme but also showed he is a solid man defender that can work well in press coverage. The Colts also utilized him as a nickel blitzer during the second half of the season.

Moore is under contract through the 2019 season and will be a restricted free agent after that. However, there is a chance the Colts look to give him an extension sometime in the future given how much of an impact he’s had.
