Indianapolis Colts defensive end Justin Houston was named a finalist for the 2020 Art Rooney Sportsmanship award, the league announced Tuesday.

Houston was one of eight players to be named a finalist for the award. The winner will be revealed at the NFL Honors awards show. The Colts named Houston their nominee for the award on December 4.

The Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award was created in 2014 in honor of Pro Football Hall of Famer Art Rooney Sr., the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The honor is presented each year “to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition,” according to the league.

This is the third season in a row that a Colts players has made it to the finalist stage of this process. Former quarterback Andrew Luck (2018) and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (2019) were the finalists for the Colts in the last two seasons. Former running back Frank Gore (2016) won the award.

The winner of the Art Rooney Sportsmanship award will receive $25,000 to the charity of their choice.
