Colts’ Justin Houston: ‘I’ll be good to go’ vs. Bengals

Indianapolis Colts veteran defensive end Justin Houston aggravated a hip injury during the team’s 32-23 loss on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns but is optimistic he will be ready to go for the upcoming matchup.

In the injury updates given by head coach Frank Reich on Monday, Houston was among the five players the Colts will be monitoring this week as they prepare for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Houston, though, spoke to reporters on Tuesday and said he will be ready to play against the Bengals by the time the game rolls around.

The hip injury could explain why Houston didn’t have the impact we are used to seeing from him. The 30-year-old edge rusher has been a force for the Colts and has shown no signs of slowing down through the first five games.

It wouldn’t be a shock if Houston is listed on the injury report, especially if the team gives him a day off on Wednesday or Friday. Even though he says he will be good to go, his status should still be monitored throughout the week.

The Colts will return to practice Wednesday as they prepare for the home matchup against the Bengals—looking to grab a win before their expected bye in Week 7.
