Colts’ Julian Blackmon fined for hit on Lamar Jackson

Indianapolis Colts safety Julian Blackmon was fined for lowering his helmet on a tackle of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson in the Week 9 game at Lucas Oil Stadium.

In the same game that Ravens safety DeShon Elliott was fined for a hit on Colts tight end Jack Doyle, Blackmon gets fined for a hit that was flagged immediately—unlike the one on Doyle.

The fine cost Blackmon $4,951, which is more than the one that put Doyle in the concussion protocol.

Regardless, Blackmon has been a key part to the Colts defense and is putting himself in the conversation for the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
