The Indianapolis Colts hosted free agent running back Jay Ajayi on Wednesday, and he left without a deal.
With the visit having come and gone, the Colts will reportedly keep in talks with Ajayi and his camp, but there is “nothing imminent” between the two sides, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
This doesn’t mean a deal won’t get done in the future, but it simply means the visit went without the two sides agreeing on a contract.
Ajayi, 26, is coming off of a torn ACL he suffered in 2018 after playing in just four games. He also played through a fracture in his back during the first quarter of the season before his campaign ended with the ACL tear.
It remains to be seen if a deal with come to fruition between the Colts and Ajayi, but it could still be something to keep an eye on.
