Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett is getting some recognition following his career day against the Houston Texans in Week 7.
Leading the Colts to a home win and pushing them into first place, Brissett completed 26 of 39 passes for 326 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions. The league named him the AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
It was an encouraging outing from Brissett. The Texans chose to key on Marlon Mack and the run game—challenging the fourth-year quarterback to beat them.
He did just that throughout the majority of the game with a little help from the innovative play designs from head coach Frank Reich.
While it remains to be seen if Brissett is the long-term answer, he showed promise that he at least has the potential of carrying the offense when he needs to. And that resulted in career day and a selection as the best offensive player in the conference.
