Colts injury updates: LB Darius Leonard in concussion protocol

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich addressed the media in a conference call Monday following the Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium.

Here’s a look at some of the injury updates Reich gave the media pertaining to a few players:

LB Darius Leonard: The All-Pro linebacker showed concussive symptoms following the win Sunday and is in the league’s protocol. There is no timetable for return as concussions are different for everyone. He must be cleared before returning to the field.

CB Pierre Desir: The veteran cornerback suffered a bruised bone on his knee, and it has been reported he’s expected to miss some time. Reich wouldn’t put a timetable on his return, but there is an injury that could keep Desir out.

DE Jabaal Sheard: Apparently making progress, Sheard could be on the field this week. Reich noted that they are still evaluating his progress and they “might anticipate him taking a next step and being out there a little bit this week.”
