Colts host S Marcus Gilchrist on visit

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly bringing in safety Marcus Gilchrist for a free-agent visit on Monday.

Following the news that Malik Hooker would miss some time following a procedure to repair a torn meniscus, the Colts will be looking to bring in some depth to the defensive backfield.

That includes a visit from the veteran Gilchrist, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Gilchrist, 30, was a second-round pick in 2011 with the San Diego Chargers where he would play for four seasons. He also spent time with the New York Jets (2015–2016), Houston Texans (2017) and Oakland Raiders (2018).

The Colts will be without one of their best playmakers on the defensive side of the ball, which means they will be forced to find some depth in the mean time.
