Colts host QB Brock Osweiler on free-agent visit

In life after Andrew Luck, the Indianapolis Colts are likely to be kicking the tires on several veteran quarterbacks to back up Jacoby Brissett, and among them is the embattled Brock Osweiler.

With Phillip Walker and Chad Kelly—who is suspended for two games to start the season—as the only backups to Brissett, the Colts will be searching the free agent market for viable arms.

The visit was first reported by Field Yates of ESPN and confirmed by Mike Wells of ESPN on Wednesday.

Osweiler likely isn’t the last quarterback the Colts will bring in for a visit and/or workout.

As a backup for the Miami Dolphins in 2018, Osweiler played in seven games while making five starts filling in for the injured Ryan Tannehill. He completed 63.5% of his passes for 1,247 yards, six touchdowns, four interceptions and an 86.0 passer rating.

With the aforementioned Luck retired, the Colts are likely to continue kicking the tires on quarterbacks available in the market, and they are likely to do so following the roster cuts as well.
