Colts free agent S Clayton Geathers visited Buccaneers

It seems the free agent tour for former Indianapolis Colts safety Clayton Geathers continues on as the veteran reportedly visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Geathers, who is an unrestricted free agent following a four-year stint with the Colts, made his way to the Sunshine State on Tuesday for a meeting with the Buccaneers, per Field Yates of ESPN.

Geathers visited with the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, and it seems the Colts are content with letting him test the market further, which resulted in a trip south.

It was reported that the Colts and Geathers still have ongoing negotiations even as the 26-year-old makes his trips around the league.

When healthy, Geathers is a solid safety to work in two-high looks, but he makes his money near the line of scrimmage. He’s an enforcer against the run and has even shown the ability to rush the passer during his career, though those opportunities have been few and far between.

The Colts need safety help, which means Geathers is still an option as long as he’s still on the market. However, he will continue to gauge interest from other teams to find the best situation possible.
