Colts expecting CB Rock Ya-Sin to return soon

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Rock Ya-Sin will be inactive for the second consecutive game when the New York Jets visit Lucas Oil Stadium, but the team is hopeful he will be returning soon.

Ya-Sin has been dealing with an ambiguous injury. He was a surprise scratch due to what was labeled as a stomach issue in Week 2, but head coach Frank Reich told reporters Friday that Ya-Sin had a procedure done.

Even with that, Reich is optimistic it will be a quick recovery.

“He just had a procedure that I’m really not going to shed any more light on, but we are optimistic that he is healing quickly and will be back soon,” Reich said.

It isn’t fully clear what happened with Ya-Sin. The question asked was in regards to a procedure on his appendix, but Reich didn’t confirm that.

Ya-Sin has been showing developments in his second season after a strong training camp and opening game but will be out for at least this Sunday.

In his absence, the Colts will be leaning on Xavier Rhodes, Kenny Moore II and T.J. Carrie to lead the secondary.
