Colts expected to host up to 12,500 fans vs. Bengals in Week 6

As the season has gone on, the Indianapolis Colts have slowly increased the number of fans allowed at Lucas Oil Stadium and it doesn’t appear that trend will stop anytime soon.

Though the Colts have two road games back to back in Weeks 4 and 5, their third home game of the season is expected to allow up to 12,500 fans, the team announced Thursday.

This number continues to grow for the Colts. In the Week 2 home opener, the Colts had nearly 2,500 fans in attendance. The following Week 3 contest against the Jets had nearly 7,500 fans in attendance. Now, there is an expectation that the Colts will allow 12,500—close to 20% of the stadium’s capacity.

While the Colts are optimistic this will stick over the next two weeks, it isn’t set in stone. With the way COVID-19 has been sticking around, everything is subject to change. We even saw the first game of the season get postponed between the Titans and Steelers this week because of positive cases.

It is encouraging that the Colts continue to increase the number of expected fans, and we could hear some real crowd noise against the Bengals in Week 6.
